An internship is a one-time project-oriented opportunity to enhance your educational experience by allowing you to apply classroom knowledge in a professional environment. An internship will allow you to explore specific careers, develop new skills, enhance current strengths, gain career related experience, increase your marketability. The Internship opportunities available are short-term apprenticeship or temporary jobs (120 hours of on-site experience to earn 3 credit hours) in a real-world setting closely related to a student's field of study. The student may or may not be paid but earns college credit for the work experience. Evaluation Assistant - Early Childhood Education
DescriptionPrimary Duties: Work with community initiative staff of United Way of Madison County to collect, analyze, and evaluate data related to the early childhood education community initiative “Fun Learning Moments” – a program for parental engagement seeking to improve kindergarten readiness. The primary assessment is the DIAL. Identify strategies for follow-up. Evaluate program effectiveness. Generate recommendations for continued program improvement. Activities include, but may not be limited to: · Attending Early Childhood Education community initiative meetings. · Gathering existing data and information to date on participating and non-participating children and families, as well as teaching/support staff. · Contacting families to verify information and gather additional information. · Researching evidence-based best practice as well as comparable outcomes for program comparison. · Creating a data base of DIAL scores and other chosen indicators. · Assisting in reporting results to date, both verbally and in writing, for community presentation. · Participating in strategic planning and program implementation. Finance Internship
