ACADEMIC PROGRAMS

International Student Information

An M.B.A. Class

Our students are more mature then traditional full-time students. Most have be employed full-time from 5 to 15 years. International students comprise about six percent of the student body, coming from India, Thailand, Russia, Indonesia, France, among other countries. We are interested in having more international students in our program.

International applicants who are not native speakers of English are required to submit TOEFL scores. The minimum acceptable score is 550. We also require a minimum GMAT verbal score of 18. Even with an acceptable score, intensive English courses may be required as part of the program.

Applications are needed at least 3 months in advance. To apply, (1) submit an international student application, (2) arrange for every university you attended to mail an official copy of your transcripts to our Office of Admissions, (3) request ETS to mail your GMAT scores to the Office of Admissions.

Tuition for international students depends on how much academic background you have in business and how proficient you are in English. If your language skills are good and you have all the foundation courses we require, then tuition for the entire program will be approximately $25,850. For every extra course you need, plan $2350 more. Fees and textbooks should cost you approximately $1,500.

Before being admitted, international students holding F1 student visa status must demonstrate financial support showing access in liquid funds that will cover tuition and living expenses for the period of study or a minimum of 12 months. F1 students who have a financial sponsor will need to request the sponsor submit an Affidavit of Financial Support and a bank statement or other bank documents to the graduate admissions office. The estimated cost of tuition and living expenses that F1 students must demonstrate access to is updated each year based on tuition and cost of living figures. Please discuss the current figures with the graduate admissions staff or an international student advisor. The tuition figures can be found on the Student Accounts/Bursar’s website at http://bursar.uah.edu/tuition.php. Health insurance for an F1 student is mandatory and is added to the tuition bill upon enrollment in classes.
