Research Interests and Activities

Dr. Baldwin's research interests are mostly focused on investigating the impact of emerging technologies on accounting and business organizations and tasks. She received the Outstanding Artificial Intelligence / Emerging Technologies Research Award in August 2000. She has served as an associate of the Accounting and Finance Research Groups at The Open University, UK (2000-2003) and as an Honorary Research Fellow at The University of Birmingham, UK (2000-2002). She also received (jointly with A. M. Lymer) a research grant to study intelligent Internet agents from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK (2000-2002). She was recognized for outstanding research at both Florida International University and Eastern Michigan University. In 2001, she was a keynote speaker at the United Kingdom National Audit Conference, Liecester, England, UK, speaking on "The E-economy and Audit Research."
